Please note that students entering Years 9, 10, and 11 in 2026 should wait to purchase textbooks or stationery for elective subjects until their subject selections have been confirmed by the School.

Officeworks School List Service 

RGS is pleased to be partnering with Officeworks to supply families with their booklist requirements for 2026 - all from the comfort of your own home. Parents can choose their child's school and grade on the Officeworks website, and the essential books and stationery will be seamlessly added to their shopping cart. What’s even better? From November 3rd, items purchased online through the 'School List Service' are available at discounted 'Back to School' prices. Please click here for more information.

Here's how to order: 

1. Go to the Officeworks School List Service website
2. Search for The Rockhampton Grammar School, and select your child's year level
3. Review the booklist
4. Remove any items your child doesn't need (ie. they may still have a ruler from the year before)
5. Add any extra items your child might need (ie. a lunch box)
6. Choose Home Delivery or Click and Collect
7. Pay for order

Please note that for Secondary students, only 'general requirements' are pre-selected. Parents will then need to select the subjects their child is studying in 2026.

The Red and Black Shop is the School's onsite uniform and supplies shop. The Shop sells new and second-hand uniforms, basic stationery and school merchandise. It is the exclusive supplier of RGS uniforms.

New Uniform Collection

The Rockhampton Grammar School was excited to launch a new uniform collection in Term 4 of 2024. The new uniform is available to purchase at the Red and Black Shop. The 'old' uniform is no longer available for purchase.

The transition period for the new uniform spans just over two years, starting at the beginning of Term 4 in 2024 and concluding at the end of Term 4 in 2026. During this time, students may choose to wear either the current uniform or the new one, but mixing elements of both on any given day is not permitted (with the exception of the School Blazer).

New students to RGS are strongly encouraged to wear the new uniform. However, students who have access to the previous uniform may continue to wear it until the end of 2026.

Secondary School Curriculum Handbook

The School's main method of communication with parents is via the RGS Parent Orbit app. The app provides parents with a mobile friendly way to access School information and undertake various school-related tasks such as notifying student absences, checking the school calendar, completing excursion forms, reading Daily Notices, viewing your child's timetable, paying school fees, signing your child up for co-curricular activities and more. It will also enable the School to send notifications for time sensitive or essential information, such as event cancellations.

Please note that new families commencing at RGS in 2026 will receive their Parent Lounge login details in mid-January 2026. 

To download the app:

1. Go to the Apple or Google app store on your mobile device.
2. Search for 'Parent Orbit'. Alternatively, if you are currently on a mobile device you can use this link: https://parent.tassorbit.com.au/rgs
3. After downloading, enter 'rgs' as the school code.
4. Enter your Parent Lounge username and password (new families will receive their login details in January 2026).

Prep, 2026 students and parents are invited to join us at the Prep Transition Morning on Friday 28 November. This session will provide students the chance to explore their Prep classroom and spend time with their future teacher, while parents will receive valuable information to help prepare for the school year ahead. Please find further details below.

Prep 2026 Transition Morning

When: Friday 28 November, 2025

Time: 10:30am - 12:00pm

Where: Duggan Hall (entrance via Quarry St).

What to wear: Students should wear casual clothes and closed-in shoes.

What to bring: A light lunch for your child, packed in a lunchbox. Students should also have a water bottle.

Parking: On Quarry and surrounding streets only. No parking is available in the Primary drop-off zone.

Year 7, 2026 students and parents are invited to attend the Year 7 2026 Transition Day on Friday 28 November. Starting Secondary School marks an exciting chapter in your child's learning journey. To support their transition, this day will give students the opportunity to explore the Year 7 classrooms and meet the classmates who will be joining them in Year 7 next year.

We also warmly invite Year 7, 2026 parents to join us for a relaxed meet-and-greet and Parent Information Session on this day. It will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families and staff, and to share in the excitement of the year ahead. Please find the details below.

Year 7, 2026 Transition Day

When: Friday 28 November, 2025

Time: 8:00am - 1:00pm

Registration:

• Registration for Day Students will take place at 8:00am in the Quarry Street Drop-Off Zone (outside Duggan Hall). 
• All Year 7 Boarders (boys and girls) are asked to assemble outside Girls House at 7:50am. Staff will then escort them to the Auditorium. 

What to wear: Students are asked to wear comfortable casual clothing, including shorts and a T-shirt with sleeves. Closed-in shoes are required.

What to bring: A hat and water bottle. The School will provide morning tea and lunch.

Parking: Available on Quarry Street and surrounding streets. Please note parking is not available in the Quarry Street Drop-Off Zone.

Pick-Up: 

• Day Students can be collected from the Quarry Street Pick-Up Zone at 1:00pm.
• Boarders will continue into the New Boarders' Orientation Weekend.

Parent Session

As students commence Transtition Day, Year 7, 2026 parents are invited to join us for tea and coffee and the opportunity to meet other parents and RGS staff. Following this, there will be a Parent Information Session covering key information for the start of Year 7.

Time: 8:00am - 9:30am

Venue: Duggan Hall (Quarry Street)

All new Boarders commencing in 2026 are invited to join us at the New Boarders' Orientation Weekend from 28 - 30 November 2025.

The Orientation Weekend offers a wonderful opportunity for incoming 2026 Boarders, across all year levels, to experience Boarding life at RGS and get acquainted with the School and Boarding staff. It also provides a chance for students to meet peers who will join them on their RGS Boarding journey.

When: Friday 28 - Sunday 30 November, 2025

Parent Programme

It is not just your child who is about to embark on a journey with RGS Boarding. Boarding at RGS is a partnership with the whole family. Therefore, there are a range of activities for parents throughout the weekend including information sessions, the subsidiary campuses tour and meal times.
