Sporting Scholarships

2024 SPORTING SCHOLARSHIPS ARE NOW OPEN. APPLICATIONS WILL CLOSE 4PM 28 JULY 2023.

The Rockhampton Grammar School has a small number of sporting scholarships available for students who currently compete at State or National level or have been selected in a talent identification programme, in one or more of RGS’s priority core sports.

Priority core sports for 2024 sporting scholarships are:

  • Cricket
  • Netball
  • Rowing
  • Rugby (League and Union)
  • Touch Football

The scholarships are offered based on the applicant's performance and achievements in their chosen sport, as well as evidence of their sound record of academic performance and behaviour. Scholarships vary between 25% and 75% and are applied to annual tuition and boarding fees.

The scholarship does not apply to any other School fees, including levies, uniforms, textbooks and supplies, co-curricular costs, excursions etc.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • be entering Year 10 or 11 in 2024 or 2025*.

  • have a record of sound academic performance and behaviour.
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian Permanent Residence Visa.

Students awarded a Scholarship must comply with the terms and conditions of the RGS Scholarship programme, commit to the School’s values and actively participate and contribute to the wider School community.

(*In exceptional circumstances scholarships may be awarded to students entering Year 7, 8 or 9 or who are elite performers in the identified core sports. Applicants entering these year levels should contact the Director, Co-Curricular prior to applying to discuss their application).
