Each year, The Rockhampton Grammar School supports over 100 students through scholarships and bursaries.
RGS Scholarships are available for Boarding and Day students entering Year 7 or Year 10 only and are academic in nature. Current RGS students and new students are welcome to apply. Scholarships are awarded based on school performance and ability. The Scholarship process allows the School to recognise children based on their potential to contribute to and derive great benefit from The Rockhampton Grammar School.
All students who apply for a Scholarship are required to sit the ACER Scholarship exam. Test results from this examination are used by the School as one criteria in determining Scholarship recipients. The exam will assess a range of skills such as the ability to interpret, infer, deduce and think critically. The test is not curriculum based and does not test the ability to retrieve learned knowledge. Applicants must sit the exam in person at the School on the date advised by the School.
You must register for the ACER Scholarship Exam here. Registration for the ACER Scholarship exam requires a $110 registration fee payable online to ACER.

The Rockhampton Grammar School offers needs-based Bursaries to girls and boys entering RGS in Years 7 through 12, who would greatly benefit from an education at The Rockhampton Grammar School, but who without financial assistance would be otherwise unable to attend. A Bursary may cover all or part of tuition and/or boarding fees. Each Bursary is subject to annual review of the student’s all-round performance and active involvement in school life, and the family’s ongoing financial position.
