RGS runs the Rockhampton Grammar School Brahman stud (the 500th member of the ABBA) at the School farm. Registered heifers were donated to the School by the McCamley, Nobbs and Kirk families in June 2005.

Students joining the team will be instructed on preparing and leading show cattle (both stud cattle and led steers), as well as given information on competing in junior judging (stud and commercial beef cattle) and junior parading competitions.

Times

Members of the show cattle team meet at the farm on Monday and Thursday afternoons. The school bus is available to transport students to and from the farm.

Costs

There is no joining fee but students attending the shows will need to purchase a uniform and will have to cover expenses (such as entry fees, transport, meals) at the shows we attend.

Calendar

This year we are intending to show at the Marlborough, Caves, Baralaba, Biloela, Ridgeland and Mt Morgan Agricultural Shows.

Uniform

The uniform will consist of polished boots (preferably brown, however school shoes may be worn), cream jeans/slacks (not blue or white jeans) and a belt, a blue embroidered collared shirt (approximately $50), blue RGS presentation tie (for males) or blue scarves (for females) and an akubra hat (either the students personal hat - in GOOD CONDITION - or the boys School hat)

Students will also be required to use their School blazer for Junior Judging and School Teams Judging. The School will provide white dust coats for parading the cattle. During preparation times, students will be expected to wear RGS polo sports shirts and jeans.
