Girls House
Girls House is headed by Mrs Susie Hunter who joined The Rockhampton Grammar School in 2006. Originally from New Zealand, where she herself attended boarding school, Ms Hunter has travelled all over the world. As a Music student, she performed in rock and jazz bands, orchestras and choirs, in far-flung venues from Westminster Abbey to the White House. She and her husband, David, raised three children - Poppy, James and Patrick - who subsequently caught the travel bug and currently reside in the UK, Japan and Seattle. Susie taught and was involved in two boarding schools in the UK; at Bedford High School, 98% of her boarding pupils were from overseas. Therefore, Mrs Hunter counts email as the paramount way of staying in contact. Other Girls House staff include two full-time assistants, 6 part-time assistants and 2 Gap students from overseas.
