Learning Enrichment Centre
The
The Learning Enrichment Centre provides a specialized supportive environment in which students are given opportunities to improve numeracy and literacy skills. The Centre is staffed by qualified teachers and supported by an experienced teacher aide. Students may enrol for assistance in English, Mathematics or a combination of both. Assistance is available in two-period, four-period or, in special cases, six-period blocks.

How much does it cost?
The Centre operates on a 'user pays' basis. Each block of two periods per week costs $365.00 per term. Fees are based on an average of three students per class. To enrol a student of find out more information please contact the Learning Enrichment Centre Co-ordinator.
What assistance is offered?
Many students enrol to gain further assistance with core curriculum tasks. However the Centre Co-Ordinator also provides guidance in developing Individual Education Programmes (IEPs) for students who have specific learning difficulties. Students enrolled in extra tuition courses may review their participation on a term-by-term basis. Students are asked to give adequate notice when they wish to withdraw from the programme
How are tutorials structured?
Our tutors work in close co-operation with subject teachers, conferring regularly about students and the content material with which they are dealing. Weaknesses are identified and skills taught to overcome these problems.
Reports
At the end of each semester a report detailing the progress of each student is sent home. Parents who wish to discuss any matters relating to their child's progress in these programmes are encouraged to contact the appropriate teacher at the Centre.
When do these lessons occur?
Lessons may be arranged between 8.00am and 4.00pm, Mondays to Fridays. Students will be expected to negotiate times with their teachers. Student will be responsible for catching up on any work missed should they arrange to attend a lesson at the Centre during normal class time. In special cases, an entire elective may be dropped to allow a student to attend the Centre for four or six periods per week; however, this option may only be pursued after consultation with the respective Head of Year.
